CAM and Nesting Software Support

Kerfa Nest software brings panel waste to around 5% and accepts DXF, DWG and parametric module input.

First license included

A machine's return depends largely on its software. Kerfa Nest generates toolpaths from DXF and DWG drawings, lays parts on the board to minimize waste, and optimizes cutting order.

Software features

  • Automatic nesting, remnant tracking and stock management
  • Furniture module input (from kitchen and cabinet design programs)
  • Label printing and automatic assignment of drilling/milling operations
  • Kerf and pierce-delay tables for plasma

Software updates are free for the first two years. If you use third-party CAM, we prepare the post-processor for you.

Scope of service

  • Automatic nesting and remnant tracking
  • DXF / DWG and module input
  • 2 years of free updates
  • Post-processor preparation

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose for a CNC router?
Choose by the board size you use most. For 1,220 × 2,440 mm boards, the 1325 (1,300 × 2,500) suits; for 1,830 × 2,750 mm boards, the 1530 or 2231 models fit. We recommend a working area at least 50 mm larger than the board for edge margin.
Is an ATC (automatic tool changer) necessary?
If you work with a single tool it is not needed, but if you use several tools for cutting, milling and drilling, an ATC shortens process time by about 30% on average and reduces operator error. It is recommended for serial production.
Up to what thickness can plasma cut?
Clean cut is 25 mm with a 130 A source and 32 mm with 200 A; severance cuts reach 38 and 50 mm respectively. On thinner plate, speed and edge quality are much higher.
Which software does the machine work with?
With Kerfa Nest you can use DXF and DWG files directly. We also prepare post-processors for popular CAM software and support XML module input from furniture design programs.
What infrastructure is needed for installation?
A level concrete floor, 380 V three-phase power, earthing, 6-8 bar compressed air and, for dusty work, a dust extraction system. You can download our Infrastructure Guide or use our free workshop planning service.
